BS/2 hosted Forum on Banking Technology 2012 in the capital of Georgia

Published: 10 December 2012 y., Monday

This year at the end of November, the BS/2 company organized the Forum on Banking Technology 2012 in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The international conference, dedicated to the latest banking technology, is a continuation of a series of events in Central Asia. In 2011, Kazakhstan hosted a similar conference. Such event was also held in Kirghizstan on September this year.

The Forum gathered top managers and representatives of Georgia's and Azerbaijan's leading banks.  BS/2 specialists as well as the representatives of the German corporation Wincor Nixdorf and the bank SEB Latvia shared their extensive experience. It is worth mentioning that the Tbilisi event was marked by a high level of participation proving the growth of demand for solutions based on the state-of-the-art technology in the banking sector.

ATMeye.iQ, a video monitoring solution for banking self-service devices, which is already well-known to the banking sector of the Baltic region and the CIS countries, was presented to the conference participants by BS/2's representatives. They also presented Cash Logistics.iQ, a cash flow optimization module, and Payments.iQ, a piece of software for payment applications in terminal networks. Maintenance services provided to the customers were also introduced.

"The Georgian market is special as 95 percent of it is occupied by Wincor Nixdorf banking hardware (ATMs and other self-service devices). The top quality services that are provided in this country contribute to such result as well. Also, we are always open with our customers and always able to offer different ways of cooperation that help develop business. Our extensive experience suggests that companies often seek for greater efficiency by committing particular tasks to professional partners. And this justifies", – said Pavel Drobinov, Head of Business Development Department in BS/2.

The representatives of the bank SEB Latvia shared their experience of successful application of Cash Recycling business models in the Baltic region. Cash Recycling is new generation self-service equipment with possibility to deposit as well as dispense cash. ATMs are equipped with universal cassettes combining both deposit and withdrawal functions. The system is unique because it can withdraw banknotes previously deposited by other client.  This diminishes substantially the collection expenditures and optimizes the money flows.

SEB Latvia has already employed the Cash Recycling technology and may assess its advantages. “We've noticed that this technology is especially effective when cash flow is fairly stable or when the cash collection is executed by the third party. The collection using regular ATMs with separate dispense/deposit functions should be usually carried out every 8 days while using Cash Recycling - every 18 days on average“, - said Aldis Voitenko, Head of Telecommunication and ATM Unit at SEB Latvia.

Ana Pankraz, representative for German corporation Wincor Nixdorf, told the conference participants about the CINEO machines that help diminishing expenses and risk related to the handling of money flows. BS/2 is a long-time partner of Wincor Nixdorf. It supplies hardware manufactured by the German company to many CIS countries.

Similar conferences for presenting and discussing the most current issues related to banking technology are also to be held in Azerbaijan, Armenia and other countries.
