BankIT 2015 Invited to Join a Discussion on the Modern Banking Challenges

Published: 25 November 2015 y., Wednesday

Last week, Minsk, the capital of Belarus, hosted the 12th International Banking Technology Forum BankIT 2015. One of the key topics of this year’s event was digitization of the financial sector. Representatives of banks, other financial institutions and technology companies attending the event discussed about e-services and their development, mobile and contactless payments, virtual currencies and security challenges.

The event was organized by the National Bank of Belarus, Scientific and Technological Association Infopark, and Association of Banks of Belarus. According to Vladimir Basko, Director General of Infopark, BankIT is becoming an event dedicated not only to information technology, but to the entire digital business as well. “Together with the National Bank of Belarus, we decided to change the direction of the forum a little bit. We dedicated more attention to digitization processes of the financial sector: new services, changing business models, trends and perspectives”, said V. Basko.

BankIT 2015 brought together more than 1,000 qualified specialists from over 20 countries under a single roof. On the first day of the forum, attendees had the opportunity to listen to presentations of experts on innovative solutions for banks related to the shaping of a new business strategy and development under the conditions of digital economy.

According to representatives of IT company IBA Group that has been participant of the forum since its beginning, the popularity and longevity of BankIT proves that modern technologies have found their place in the financial market. “With a rapid development of the banking sector, solutions offered by IT companies become more and more sought after. Therefore, Banking Technology Forum BankIT has retained its popularity as well. This is one of the most significant events of its kind in Belarus, which presents a great number of innovations every year. This year, our company introduced updated data center and its services. Visitors of the event took great interest in our data processing and staff management solutions”, said Inna Igontova, Image Developer and Head of Marketing Division at IBA Group.

Those who could not attend the forum had the opportunity to watch direct broadcast on the major Belorussian information portal at www.belta.by. Technical implementation of the broadcast was ensured by Penki TV channel, a partner of BankIT 2015. In the nearest future, www.scena.lt website will offer an archive of all broadcasts from the event.

The second and third day of the event were dedicated to other relevant topics: digital transformation of banks and the relevant trends, cloud technologies, business management, methods of IT project management, etc. Attendees of BankIT had the opportunity to find answers to the questions that were of greatest interest to them, discuss the most relevant topics, attend theme discussions, listen to success stories, meet customers and partners.

In more than 10 years of its existence, the forum has become the most important space for business meetings, where ways of increasing the efficiency of operation of the banking sector by means of modern technologies are discussed.
