March 19 one of the largest Internet and communication technology exhibitions/conferences in the world “TV Connect 2013” (formerly known as “IP&TV World Forum”) starts in London exhibition centre Olympia Exhibition Centre. This year, the event that brings together global TV experts under a single roof for the ninth time will focus on telecommunications and mobile connection quality, ensuring the security, IPTV market development, compatibility of equipment and other relevant issues. The exhibition is initiated by the international organization “Open IPTV Forum” (OIPF) uniting such market giants as Cisco, Motorola, Gemalto, Philips, Sun Microsystems, etc.

The group of companies “Penki kontinentai” – a member of OIPF organization – actively cooperates with global leaders Cisco Systems, Envivio Inc., Microsoft and presents its latest IP television solutions in the annual events of “IP&TV World Forum”. The visitors of these events have already had the opportunity to take a look at the constantly growing IPTV service package of the Lithuanian company: possibility to use TV services with various devices, manage Smart House, view exchange rates, find out the weather forecast or check flight schedules, chat on Facebook, use e-mail, Google Maps, browse the Internet by means of a TV set, manage television by means of remote access, record the desired program for later viewing, etc.

At this year’s exhibition in London, the company intends to introduce an OTT (Over The Top) version of the graphic IPTV user interface “IPTV.iQ”.

“IPTV.iQ interface developed by our company operates under OTT principle. It ensures the functioning of the service both in and outside a local Skynet network. This means that our software solution operates without any limits – regardless of a network used or its geographical location” says Tomas Okmanas, the Head of Network Operations Centre Department.

Moreover, the company is the first one in Lithuania to offer direct broadcast by means of an OTT technology, allowing for broadcasting and viewing video and audio material online on any device – computer, smartphone, pad. The company’s customers have already had the opportunity to directly view the Login conference, Fashion Infection, OIPF Symposium announcements, various musical events and movies.

“TV Connect 2013” offers the opportunity to hear over 260 speakers representing the largest companies in the world and see the latest IPTV products and solutions presented by over 200 exhibitors. The exhibition will run until 21 March.
