Charlemagne Youth Prize 2010: national winners named

The 27 national winners of the European Charlemagne Youth Prize 2010 have been named. Representatives from each winning project will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in Aachen, Germany, on 11 May, when an overall winner will be chosen.

The European Charlemagne Youth Prize is awarded to projects by people aged from 16-30 that:

promote European and international understanding

foster the development of a shared sense of European identity and integration

serve as a role model for young people living in Europe and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as one community.

Prizes for the three best projects will be presented by European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek and a representative of the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen.

The winner of the first prize will get €5000, the second prize is awarded €3000 and the third gets €2000.
