IPTV World Forum in London

 

In late March, experts of the best telecommunications companies will meet in London to discuss and share insights on the present and future of IP television (IPTV; Internet protocol television). On 19-20th of March, Olympia Exhibition Centre located in the capital of Great Britain will hold one of the largest Internet and communication technology exhibitions/conferences in the world “TV Connect 2013” (formerly known as “IP&TV World Forum”) for the ninth time.  

The initiator of the annual IPTV World Forum is the international organization Open IPTV Forum (OIPF) which develops common IPTV standards, brings together companies and organizations developing and supplying IPTV products as well as popularizes IPTV solutions. It was established in March of 2007 by Ericsson, France Telekom, Nokia, Siemens, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony and Telekom Italia. The members of the organization are such market giants as Cisco, Motorola, Gemalto, Philips, Sun Microsystems, etc.

The group of companies “Penki kontinentai” that provides its customers with a range of IT, telecommunications, banking technology services became a member of OIPF in 2011. The company is actively involved in the activities of OIPF and presents its latest IPTV solutions at the events of annual IP&TV World Forum. The visitors of these events have already had the opportunity to take a look at the constantly growing IPTV service package of the Lithuanian company: possibility to use TV services with various devices, manage Smart House, view exchange rates, find out the weather forecast or check flight schedule, chat on Facebook, use e-mail, Google Maps, browse the Internet by means of a TV set, manage television by means of remote access, record the desired program for later viewing, etc.

This year’s event offers the opportunity to hear over 260 speakers representing the largest companies in the world. TV Connect 2013 will invite to discuss the following topics: telecommunications and mobile connection quality improvement, ensuring the security, IPTV market development, game applications, possibilities for developing different technological platforms, compatibility of equipment, etc. Furthermore, over 200 exhibitors will present their latest IPTV products and solutions at the exhibition.

The main topics of TV Connect 2013:

The exhibition is intended for representatives of television and radio companies, mobile operators and IT specialists. It is visited by approximately 7 thousand visitors every year. Moreover, TV Connect Industry Awards will be held for the seventh year in a row during TV Connect 2013, where the most outstanding participants of the global IPTV market of 2012 will be appreciated and honoured.
