Penki Kontinentai Group After Quarantine: Changed Communication Format and Rapid Introduction of Technologies

Published: 17 June 2020 y., Wednesday

Banking and ITT technology Group Penki Kontinentai steps out of quarantine with an even stronger position in the market and retaining employee salaries.

“Our focused strategy helped maintain stable financial performance. Penki Kontinentai’s revenue for the first quarter of 2020 is consistent with the results of the same period last year and exceeds 10 million euros,” says Idrakas Dadašovas, Chairperson of the Penki Kontinentai Board.

According to him, first of all, the pandemic affected personal communication with customers and partners. Given the wide geography of providing integrated services, the Group had to adapt to a dynamically changing environment.

The banking sector has shown an increased interest in tools for managing cash flows, contactless payment methods, and biometric solutions. Two webinars on the management of cash turnover and ATMs fleet in a pandemic were organized for representatives of financial institutions of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

Considering the changed money circulation model and other transformations of banking services in various regions, Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos (BS/2) specialists improved “.iQ” product family, which uses tools for storing, security, monitoring, access and visual display of data using cloud technologies, interactive visualization, and the Big Data concept.

Employees Are Our Priority

“The quarantine focused our attention on the health of colleagues and clients, and accelerated the introduction of innovative technologies in our Group,” says Auksė Glavinskienė, Human Resources Manager at Penki Kontinentai.

A device with an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser, a thermal imager, and a biometric identification system is installed in the lobby of the Penki Kontinentai office. Following the video instructions, employees can sanitize their hands and measure the temperature.

The Penki Kontinentai Group has supplied Santaros Clinic, Vilnius University Clinic, Antakalnis Clinic, Center Clinic, Vilnius District Clinic, and Kaunas Medical University Clinical Hospital with non-contact hand sanitizer dispensers.

Penki Kontinentai supported social initiatives during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Group allocated almost 30 thousand euros to various Lithuanian funds for the purchase of the necessary medical equipment.

During the quarantine period, 120 Lithuanian companies that use the services of ASHBURN International were released from financial obligations to pay for payment services. Most of them are educational institutions, museums, art galleries, and sports clubs, which were forced to suspend their activities because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Group provided customers over 65 years of age with one-hundred-percent compensation for telecommunication services (Internet and Penki TV). The total amount of compensation during the quarantine amounted to 70 thousand euros.
