Eurasian Economic Community Established
On Tuesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko, Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev and Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov signed a treaty on creating the Eurasian Economic Community in Kazakhstan capital Astana. Eurasian Economic Community is a new international economic organization built on the basis of the Customs Union. The presidents signed a statement and a treaty on the creation of the organization that regulate the structures and activity of the bodies controlling the integration, both those that now exist and those being created. The decision to create the Eurasian Community "is not only the next stage, but also a practical step in the realization of Kazakhstan's idea of a Eurasian Union," an official press release says.
