Meeting of Nordic and Baltic Heads of Government in Brussels
In Brussels, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius attended the meeting of Nordic and Baltic Prime Ministers – the meeting which is traditionally held to discuss their opinions right before the first working session of the European Council.
The today‘s meeting, among other topics, covered the worsening financial and economic situation of the whole region. The Danish and Finnish Prime Ministers remarked that their countries, which had been in a somewhat better position so far, had also been facing the deteriorating economic indicators.
On meeting Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis for the first time, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius expressed the hope that the new Latvian Government would succeed in coming to a trilateral agreement with Sweden on the construction of the power bridge.
Tonight Andrius Kubilius attends the first session of the European Council and the working dinner of the EU Heads of State and Government.
