Batteries - recharged within minutes

Id order to make lithium-ion batteries to recharge 90 percent faster - in about 2 minutes, new electrodes based on nanostructural metal foam were used. If such battery goes on sale, we will be able to charge our laptop in few minutes, while the mobile phone will be recharged in just 30 seconds. A similar battery charging method is ofted used in hybrid and electric vehicles.

"Braun" group has developed a "smart" metal foam, covered by a large amount of active particles. It provides high electrical conductivity. In addition, this structure has enough active substances to ensure the required amount of energy.

 This unique project is described in nanotechnology magazine "Nature".  However professor Jeff Dahn from Dalhaus university is skeptical about this unique project. In his opinion, such battery structure is quite difficult to develop, so it is very costly.
