Oil extraction increased in Kazakhstan by 21.9%

As for the first six months of the year, extraction of crude oil in Kazakhstan has increased by 21.9% reaching at 17.3 million tons, while extraction of natural gas increased by 10.3% standing at 6.2 billion cubic meters. According to the Kazakh state agency for statistics, the volume of products of oil distillation, including petrol, increased by 26.3%, gasoil - by 15%. The data on extraction of copper ore went up by 7% totaling 16.6 million tons, lead-zinc ore - by 7% (2.8 million tons). The overall growth of industrial production for the first six months of 2001 reached 977.1 billion tenge (USD 6.6 billion) that is 13.6% more than the showings of the same period of 2000.
