“Motorola Mobility” invited its most loyal partners to an international conference

This year, in the middle of November, international electronics manufacturer “Motorola Mobility” invited its most loyal partners to the annual conference. The conference was held in Sintra, Portugal.

The most meritorious partners of the company from around the world were invited to the conference. Among them was Lithuanian company “Penki kontinentai” that has been cooperating with “Motorola Mobility” for a number of years and is a certified partner of the company. The total of about one hundred and fifty participants from Central and Western Europe arrived at the event.

During the conference, the most attention was paid to IP television (Internet Protocol Television, IPTV) – its current status, trends and perspectives. There were discussions about the use of IPTV solutions in tourism, sports, healthcare and other sectors. It is predicted that in 2015, revenues from IPTV services provided in various sectors will grow to 4.9 billion U.S. dollars (currently they amount to 1.9 billion dollars). It is this kind of IPTV solution that was recently introduced by a group of companies “Penki kontinentai”.

The latest product “IPTV.iQ” developed by specialists of the company consists of IPTV solutions for tourism, medicine and other areas. Moreover, this product of the Lithuanian company also received positive feedback at a recently held exhibition “IBC 2012”. “IPTV.iQ” along with products of such companies as Cisco, BBC, Alcatel-Lucent, RGB Networks, NDS entered the final round of a prestigious competition “Connected Content Technology Awards”.

“IPTV.iQ” is part of “iQ” product family developed by our specialists. It is a software solution that makes a TV set “smart” and allows for using e-mail, maps, social networks, listening to radio, watching YouTube videos, browsing the Internet and using many other interactive features directly on the TV screen. The solution can be installed in hotels, SPA centers, rural tourism farmsteads, medical or educational institutions, trade or information centers and other places, and may offer the customers various TV services: perfect-quality channel packages, simple and easy-to-use user interface as well as a variety of additional features on the TV screen”, says Deputy Director of “Penkių kontinentų komunikacijų centras” Rytis Buračas.

Yet another topic that caught the attention of participants of the conference was the OTT (Over the Top) service that allows for broadcasting video material on any device (computer, smartphone, pad); moreover, such relevant issues as the installation of the operating system Android, its maximum compatibility with all Motorola devices, the new HEVC video compression standard, which will help to preserve the image quality even with particularly slow Internet connection or while using mobile Internet, were also discussed.

“Motorola Mobility” plans to hold the next conference in 2013 in London.
