Nordea awarded Bank of the Year in Western Europe

Nordea is named Bank of the Year among the leading Western European banks for 2015 by the magazine The Banker, owned by the Financial Times.

It is the second time that Nordea brings home the award as best bank in Western Europe – last time was in 2012. Nordea has also been awarded Bank of the Year 2015 in Norway, Finland and Denmark.

- Congratulations to everyone at Nordea for a spectacular performance in this year's awards winning the regional award for Western Europe as well as country awards in Denmark, Finland and Norway. The bank has shown growing profits at a time of falling interest rates as well as a strong focus on digitalisation to build a customer-oriented bank for the future -- a great result all round, says Brian Caplen, editor of The Banker.

The award “Bank of the Year” is the most prestigious banking award in the world with the longest running international banking title.

The last three years the Bank of the Year in Western Europe award has been given to Santander (2014), ING (2013) and Nordea (2012).
