A group of NATO experts is with the visit in Kazakhstan

North Atlantic Treaty Organization is interested in security of the Central Asian region, however at present it doesn't consider an opportunity to use Kazbat in Afghanistan, the leader of the group of NATO experts stated at the briefing in Almaty. “Now NATO conducts three operations on Balkans. We should change units. We may consider Kazbat can be used there,”- Frank Bolland, deputy director of the department of military planning and operations of NATO International headquarter noted. Nevertheless any use of the Kazakhstani battalion is connected to tough international requirements, in particular, on armament and communication. As Mr. Bolland thinks the use of Kazbat is out of the question until the staff of this division fluently speaks in the language of NATO international units. At present the compatibility of Kazbat, NATO and allies has been reached. The compatibility of arms is not the main question. The important point is soldiers know English. The NATO experts met with the leaders of the apparatus of the defense ministry of Kazakhstan Bulat Sembinov. The parties are satisfied with the development of relations. Kazakhstan was the first state in Central Asia entering the prestigious military program Process of Planning and Review. However Kazakhstan is not going to join NATO.
