NATO PA President: "Belarus Among the Priorities"
Stabilization of the situation in Belarus is one of the priorities of the NATO policy, told Frenchman Pierre Lellouche, the newly elected president of the NATO Assembly. In his speech after election Lellouche defined the main political tasks for the organization for the two years. He called continuation of NATO operations in Afghanistan and in the Balkans one of the main priorities of his activities. The second priority task is the work to ‘stabilise’ the situation in the North Atlantic Alliance neighboring countries, like Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, and the Caucasian region states. Pierre Lellouche, expert in security and international policy issues, was vice-president since 2002 and head of the French delegation in the NATO PA.
