Moldova issues pre-poll warning
Moldovan President Vladimir Voronin has warned against outside interference in his country's elections, condemning the actions of Russian separatists. He was speaking after talks with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili, ahead of Sunday's parliamentary poll. Mr Voronin's Communists are facing challenges from both the pro-Romanian and pro-Russian opposition. Last month, Moldova deported 20 Russian nationals, reported to be election consultants helping the opposition. Russian-speaking separatists still run the breakaway Trans-Dniester region of Moldova, most of whose people speak Romanian.
