Kazakhstan to hold presidential elections

The presidential elections will be held in Kazakhstan in December 2006, chairman of the Central Elections Commission of the republic Zagipa Baliyeva has announced in Astana, where the round table meeting on improving elections mechanisms is being held. She added that the terms for holding the presidential elections are set by the Kazakhstani constitution. Baliyeva also said that the electronic voting system could not be implemented at the forthcoming elections as the republic lacks necessary infrastructure.
