Kazakhstan reopens border with Kyrgyzstan

Kazakhstan has reopened its border with Kyrgyzstan. The border will be open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. local time, but the possibility of the 24-hour operation of border checkpoints is being discussed. The press service of Kazakhstan's national security committee said that despite the reopening of the border, frontier guards and customs officers were still on high alert. As reported earlier, Kazakhstan's border with Kyrgyzstan had been closed since March 24. The press service of the Kazakhstani defense ministry has noted that Kazakhstan's army had not taken any special measures in connection with the disturbances in Kyrgyzstan.
