Passenger turnover at Riga Airport up 9% in six months

In the first half of the year, the number passengers who have used the services of the Riga International Airport increased 9 percent, compared to the respective period last year.
Overall, 296,872 passengers have been registered at the airport so far this year, which is 25,134 passengers more than in the first half of 2000 when the figure was 271,738 passengers.
The number of arrivals and departures also increased 3 percent - from 8,942 in the six months last year to 9,227 in the first half of this year.
A sharp increase in the number of passengers at the airport was observed this past June, when the figure was 68,036 passengers, or 21 percent up from last June (56,017 passengers).
This is thanks to more flights - 1,783 flights in June, 11 percent up from June in 2000.
