Changes in construction input prices in November 2009

Statistics Lithuania informs that construction input prices inNovember 2009, against October, dropped by 0.5 percent.

In November 2009, against October, prices for building materials and products decreased by 0.6 per cent, wages and salaries and overheads – by 0.4 per cent, which had the strongest impact on the overall construction input price change. The overall price change was also influenced by a 0.2 per cent decrease in hourly labour costs on operation of construction machines and mechanisms. 

The change in prices for building materials and products was mostly conditioned by a 1.2 per cent decrease in prices for metallic products, windows and doors, 0.4 per cent – basic building materials. In November 2009, prices for wood products decreased by 1.4 per cent, finishing materials – 0.9 per cent, insulation and plumbing materials – 0.8 per cent. 

Over the year (November 2009, against November 2008), construction input prices dropped by 13.4 per cent.
