Danisco Sugar, the biggest sugar producer in Lithuania, introduced a new brand name “Dansukker” for product meeting EU quality standards. This sugar will be produced in the Kedainiai Sugar Factory, located in the central part of Lithuania.
“The fact that the new “Dansukker” sugar will be produced in Lithuania means that the quality of the Lithuanian sugar meets the Scandinavian quality requirements”, said M.Persson, Director General of Danisco Sugar.
“Dansukker” produced in Lithuania will be sold in Lithuania and exported to Estonia. In future Dansico Sugar plans to introduce sugar of different types, tastes and colours.
Danisco Sugar produces sugar in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany and Lithuania. It has a majority interest in two of Lithuania’s sugar factories – in Panevezys and Kedainiai. In 2000, the turnover of “Danisco Sugar” exceeded USD 1 billion.
Danisco Sugar is a subsidiary of “Danisco Group”, operating in 40 countries of the world. Last year the turnover of the Group was USD 3 billion.
