In the course of Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko's visit to Germany on March 8 to 9, Naftogaz Ukrainy oil company and DeutscheBank signed a financing agreement worth EUR2bn, the company has reported to RBC.
Naftogaz Ukrainy CEO Alexey Ivchenko commented that the credit line would be spent on modernizing Ukraine's oil and gas industry. An increase in geologic exploration activities, and oil and gas production are planned, as well as modernization and construction of new gas and oil pipelines. The first amount of EUR100m to EUR200m will be transferred in March to April 2005. The credit's maturity is 5 to 7 years.
