Establishing economic relations

Published: 9 August 2001 y., Thursday
At his August 3 meeting with the official Parliamentary delegation of the State of California Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian discussed the possibilities of stimulating the trade and economic relations between Armenia and California, USA, and the issue of establishing a Trade Agency of California in Armenia. There is also an exchange program in the sphere of education. All these are based on the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding to be signed in the near future. The sides highly appreciated the exhibition devoted to Armenia that recently opened in Glendale. The huge Armenian community in California closely linked with the Homeland as well as the presence of a great number of Armenian specialists in the Cilicone Valley serves a good basis for deepening the cooperation in the sphere of information and high technologies, considering the fact that the hi-tech sphere has been declared a priority by the Armenian government.
