German entrepreneur Неrmann Weis - founder of the Moldo-German joint venture Weis-MD Vine Cо - has appealed to Vladimir Voronin for the protection of his investment.
In his letter addressed to the Moldovan President, Weis accused the Dionisos-Mereni winery and the Pirojcov-Izvoras farming association of fraudulent expropriation of 54 hectares of his company's vineyards using the falsified documents.
"I have already filed a pertinent claIm To The Economic Court of Appeal and the Center for Combating Economic Crimes & Corruption that took this matter under consideration, although I do know that these organizations are being pressurized by certain government officials," said Weis.
He also assumed that the President probably doesn't know anything about these facts and warned him that such a practice might seriously damage Moldova's international image.
"I could have informed my fellow-investors of this incident but haven't done so out of respect for Moldova and Moldovan people. I therefore believe in justice and objectiveness of the local court," he said.
