Mission to Poland

With this objective in mind, representatives of 16 Austrian businesses visited Wrocław and Warsaw June 2-4 to talk with Polish entrepreneurs about establishing bilateral cooperation. The Austrian business mission was organized by the Office of the Commercial Counselor of the Austrian Embassy in Poland. Participants included representatives of companies active in sectors such as interior design, food processing, textiles, installation technology, machine building, environmental protection, information technology, construction, brewing, laboratory technology and production of equipment for food services. About 270 Polish companies declared their participation in the mission and more than 400 bilateral talks were held. For many years, Austria has been one of the key foreign investors in Poland, and Austrian companies are among the pioneers in sectors of the Polish economy such as construction, banking and insurance. To date, Austrian companies have invested about 1.36 billion euros in Poland, counting only projects worth more than 1 million euros each. The key sectors for Austrian investment in Poland are currently: wood, paper, food processing, plastic production, construction, banking and insurance.
