Iran, Ukraine discuss transit of Iranian natural gas to Europe

Iranian ambassador to Ukraine Bahman Taherian Mubarakeh met here Wednesday with Ukraine's Minister of Energy Palachkov, the Foreign Ministry's public relations department reported.
The two officials discussed cooperation in energy sector including the transit of Iranian natural gas to Europe via Ukraine.
Taherian Mubarakeh also alluded to energy agreements signed between the two countries during the two countries joint energy cooperation committees’ sessions.
He also called for holding the third session of the committee in light of Ukraine agreements for transit of Iranian LNG to Europe.
Palachkov added that his country is ready to import Iranian gas saying that Ukraine state oil and gas company is ready to participate in the Iranian oil and gas projects.The two nations have opted for closer political, trade relations in recent years.
Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi said in Davos, Switzerland, in late January that cooperation between Iran and Ukraine in the fields of industry, trade, investment and energy are in line with mutual interests.
