Foreign Direct Investment in Lithuania was USD 2.3 billion in 2000

FDI in Lithuania was USD 2.3 billion in 2000. According to the Lithuanian Department of Statistics Foreign Direct Investment in Lithuania as of January 1, 2001 was USD 2,33 billion.
Major foreign investor countries are Denmark (18% of total FDI), Sweden (17%), the USA (10%), Germany (7.4%) and the UK (6.7%).
Investments mostly went into the processing industry (29%), trade (23%), communication services (17%) and financial intermediation companies (16%).
