"There will be 5 diplomats instead of 3 dealing with economic, investment and trade issues in the Lithuanian Embassy in the United States, including a commercial attaché in California", said Vygandas Usackas, Lithuania’s new Ambassador in the USA. “Our second top-priority besides aiming for NATO membership is to expand economic cooperation with the USA”, the Ambassador said. Last year Lithuania’s exports to the USA increased by 40% and the trade turnover between the two countries reached USD 300 million. Beside consulates in New York and Chicago, Lithuania will have a commercial attaché in California, a state which is famous for its IT industry.
