100 years of Magic is the title of the parades and celebrations that will mark Walt Disney's centennial. Mickey Mouse's creator could hardly have imagined what his cartoon characters would give birth too- a global empire of epic proportions, encompassing theme parks, film studios, and an American television network to name but a few.
From humble beginnings the company just grew and grew. 1955 saw the realisation of his dream, the opening of Disneyland in California. But animated films remain the main stay of the company. From Mortimer Mouse as he was known in the beginning, to computer generated feature films, like Toy Story. Walt may have died in 1966, but through films and theme parks his legacy is sure to live on.
