The Library of Congress has received 62 new Lithuanian books for its collection

The Library of Congress has received 62 new Lithuanian books for its collection. On October 1, the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania officials have delivered a collection of books published for the occasion of the Lithuania‘s millenium to the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

 

The donated Lithuanian books are a welcome addition to the current library  collection and will appear on the shelves in the library after few months of the cataloguing procedures, said Regina Frackowiak, librarian, The Library of Congress.

 

The collection includes books in both Lithuanian and English on  Lithuanian art, history and culture. Two other book collections will be donated to the libraries in the New York City, NY and Chicago , IL.

 

The books were published in the cooperation with the Directorate for the Commemoration of the Millenium of Lithuania under the Auspices of the Office of the President of the Republic of Lithuania.
