Venice film festival opens

Stars of Hollywood, Italian and world cinema walk the red carpet for start of the 66th annual Venice Film Festival.

As usual Venice promises a global line-up, with a number of Hollywood films in competition alongside pictures from China, Israel, Japan, France, Hong Kong and Italy.
