EU's decision

The Agricultural and Rural Development Ministry has been shocked by the EU's decision to place Hungary in the category of countries in which BSE is likely to be present. Antal Nemeth, head of department, reminded the listeners of Kossuth Radio [Channel One of Hungarian public service radio] that tests had not shown one single case of BSE infection. In view of the fact that the EU placed almost all other membership applicant countries from East Central Europe in the same category, the countries involved are now trying to form a joint stand.
