CeBIT 99: Telecommunications

Published: 19 March 1999 y., Friday
The telecommunications sector at the show covers a considerably larger area than in previous years and has been reorganized. For the first time, all carriers and providers, regardless of the network, are concentrated at CeBIT 99 in Halls 24, 25, 27 and 28. Moreover, all the telephone companies are featured in these halls, as it is not only the providers who are competing against each other, but also the different types of network (e.g. fixed, mobile, satellite and radio networks as well as the Internet). This gives you an ideal opportunity to compare the various techniques and services available on the market. But even in the other telecommunications halls, you will find that the product and service categories have also been rearranged. For example, Hall 26 accommodates almost every supplier of mobile telecommunications equipment. On show in other halls are primarily telephones and other instruments for voice communication in fixed networks. Here you can pick up useful information about PBX equipment, fixed network telephones, call center solutions and Internet telephony. Telecommunications network technology is on show in Hall 16. Along with products for data communication in telephone networks, the halls present a comprehensive overview of the what is happening in measuring technology, CTI and videoconferencing systems.
