Danish prince celebrates 35 with Web site

Published: 28 May 2003 y., Wednesday
Danish Crown Prince Frederik celebrated his 35th birthday in a very public way Monday, unveiling a personal Web site. The Danish-only site features several photos of the heir to the throne of Europe's oldest ruling monarchy and tells readers how much money — 3.7 million kroner (or about $587,000) — parliament allocates to his household annually. One thing missing from the site is any mention of Frederik's longtime girlfriend, Australian Mary Donaldson. Royal watchers wondered if the site's appearance was a sign Frederik was close to announcing an engagement to Donaldson, 31. Crown Prince Frederik's site, which is in Danish, is online at www.hkhkronprinsen.dk.
