ParallelGraphics Joins Forces with Leading Technology Companies to Establish the CAD 3D Working Group, which will define and develop common standards to best represent 3D images on the Web
ParallelGraphics (www.parallelgraphics.com), a leader in the field of Web-based 3D technologies, announced that it has joined forces with some of the world's best-known technology and 3D Graphics companies to establish the CAD (Computer Aided Design) 3D Working Group. The 3D Working Group will seek to define and develop a common CAD 3D format for Web usage.
The CAD 3D Working Group is part of the Web 3D Consortium and members include CAD software vendors, CAD users, digital content creators and industry standards bodies.
ParallelGraphics is a pioneer of several years standing in the development of 3D Web-based virtual manuals for online training and customer support and is partnering with global players like The Boeing Company in the development of Web-based training and maintenance systems.
The Company's 3D visualization and optimization technologies can present and animate extremely complicated 3D simulations on a standard PC.
In addition to ParallelGraphics, the CAD 3D Working Group includes also the Intel Corporation; Adobe Systems, ATI Technologies, Inc.; The Boeing Company; Dassault Systemes; Lattice Technology, Inc.; Microsoft Corporation; Naval Postgraduate School; National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)and others.
