Wincor Nixdorf releases remote key loading solution

Published: 29 August 2005 y., Monday

Wincor Nixdorf International announced Aug. 25 the release of a remote key loading solution to its security software package, ProTect/Enterprise, according to a news release.

ProTect/Enterprise-Remote Key Loading (PT/E-RKL) is designed to cater both single and multi-vendor environments and delivers independence from the ATM vendor, protocols and terminal software application.

ProTect/Enterprise is expected to be available for worldwide distribution before the end of the year.

PT/E-RKL supports the J2EE architecture and allows easy integration with a variety of different host systems. All Visa, MasterCard and ANSI requirements are supported.

To date, master keys are generated by key management systems and split into two halves. These halves are entered into the ATM manually by two technicians or staffmembers, which can lead to security loopholes. PT/E-RKL considerably reduces the high cost of traditional manual distribution procedures.

“ProTect/Enterprise-RKL will play a key role in providing a security solution which not only delivers industry compliancy but also reduces security risks and operation costs,” said Reinhard Rabenstein, Wincor’s vice president.
