ASSISTANCE TO MACEDONIA'S EURO-INTEGRATION PROCESS

Published: 23 October 2004 y., Saturday
Hungary, as the region's neighbor, is interested in Macedonia's stability and development, Hungarian Ambassador to Macedonia Ferenc Poka said Thursday at a press conference regarding Hungary's National Holiday - October 23. Hungary welcomed the idea for Macedonia's accession to the European Union and NATO, which requires full implementation of the Ohrid Agreement, Poka said. "Hungary would be honored if asked to grant assistance to Macedonia in the process for Euro-integration," Poka said. Referring to the Hungarian experience with this process, Poka said answering the questionnaire was the most difficult task. "Hungary presented incorrect data on agriculture, which put the country in less favorable situation at the negotiations," Poka said. Expressing satisfaction with the excellent relations between Macedonia and Hungary, Poka said his country would donate equipment, worth Euro 120,000, to the lung diseases department at the Children Clinic in Skopje. Hungary also granted Euro 100,000 for construction of a police station in the village of Matejce.
