Almaty to be large financial center

Development of Almaty as a financial center was discussed at governmental session chaired by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Daniyal Akhmetov, PM’s press service reports. The idea of Almaty development was voiced by President Nazarbayev in 1995 yet during the meeting with executives of Banks Association of Kazakhstan. The main purpose of a center created is an attraction of financial inflows into Kazakhstan and preservation of current competitive advantages towards neighboring countries. Within the frameworks of the settlement of the Almaty development as an international financial center created was joint work group, which has to study world practice on creation of such centers as Dublin and Dubai and work out an admissible model of a business center. Upon completion of the session Head of the Government entrusted the concerned ministries and departments to vitalize elaboration of feasibility study of the given project. PM also charged to attract independent experts and thoroughly analyze legal and technical aspects. Conclusions and proposals of the work group will be brought before the Government of the country.
