Published:
25 August 2001 y., Saturday
An unprecedented arrest of ZUBR activists occurred today by the Embassy of the Lithuanian Republic in Minsk. Several activists of the ZUBR resistance, including press secretary Alexander Otroschenkov, were detained by the officers of the Partizansky police station in Minsk right in front of the Embassy’s entrance. The ZUBR members came to the Embassy with an official visit. They were to present a bag of stickers with the slogan “Time to Clean Up!” But the police officer on duty phoned and called for a police unit. The police car arrived without delay, seized the guys, packed into the car and took to the Partizansky police station. The guys have spent more than 7 hours under unlawful arrest there. Needless to say that the stickers were confiscated.
