On September 12 charitable table soccer tournament will be held in Alytus to raise funds for table soccer equipment to be sent to Afghanistan, for schoolchildren in Ghowr. In the tournament organised by the Lithuanian Table Soccer Federation and 10th rotation of Provincial Reconstruction Team the money will be raised by collecting symbolic participants' fee.

Organisers of the tournament will use the money raised to buy table soccer equipment to be sent for Ghowr schoolchildren with PRT-10 this autumn.

Lithuanian Table Soccer Federation joined the campaign of fundraising and donating table soccer equipment in order to enhance occupation of schoolchildren in Ghowr and engage them in a new and interesting activity.

Lithuanian peacekeepers make efforts to maintain friendly relations with schoolchildren and teachers of Ghowr province. Representatives of Lithuanian Armed Forces who have been taking part in the mission for four years now organise many joint events (celebrations, conferences, friendly football and volleyball tournaments) with local community of Ghowr, schools, children's homes, and Youth Centre.

Lithuanian-led PRT took up responsibility for security in Ghowr in June 2005. PRT is a joint military-civilian mission operating under International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). Its main task is to help Afghan Central Government extend its authority in the province, and to ensure security and environment suitable for provincial reconstruction.

Together with Lithuanian military and civilian personnel representatives of Denmark, Georgia, Japan, the USA, Croatia, Romania, and Ukraine.
