Chief of Defence of Georgia visiting Lithuania

Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Georgia Brig. Gen. Zaza Gogava came for a three-day visit to Lithuania on July 23. The guest met with the Minister of National Defence Juozas Olekas, Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lt. Gen. Valdas Tutkus, and representatives of units of the armed forces.

Meeting at the Ministry of National Defence Minister J.Olekas and Chief of Defence of Georgia will discuss readiness level of Georgia for NATO membership, current issues of bilateral cooperation, exchange information on military reforms underway.

In the meeting with Chief of Defence of Lithuania and representatives of MoND Defence Staff, course of development of Lithuanian Armed Forces as well as current situation, future plans, transformation of the armed forces, and participation in international operations will be introduced to the guest.

Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces of Georgia Brig. Gen. Zaza Gogava will also visit General Jonas Zemaitis Lithuanian Military Academy and Grand Lithuanian Hetman Jonusas Radvila Training Regiment. Lt. Gen. V.Tutkus will brief his Georgian counterpart on the Staff of the Motorised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf, Special Operations Force and the tasks they are in charge of.
