President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė received the President of the Parliament of Luxembourg, Laurent Mosar. In the meeting, they discussed Lithuanian-Luxembourgian bilateral relations, economic and cultural cooperation, European Union-related issues relevant for the two states, and joint projects in the area on alternative energy.

The President underlined that successful development of alternative energies would promote economic and technological progress of the European Union as a whole and of every Member State individually, foster sustainable development and enhance energy independence.

„During my visit to Luxembourg this past June, I agreed with the Prime Minister of Luxembourg that consultations on investment into renewable energy in Lithuania would be launched. The European Union's commitment to promote the use of solar, wind and other alternative energies opens up new possibilities and creates favorable environment for foreign investment in Lithuania. In today's meeting, we discussed concrete further steps to follow. Lithuania must do its homework in fixing its regulatory environment and creating favorable climate for investors," President Dalia Grybauskaitė said.
