Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis congratulated Lithuanians living abroad on the twentieth anniversary of the re-establishment of Lithuania’s Independence.

According to the Minister, the 11 of March is “the victory of fulfilment of our greatest hopes, unstoppable determination and noblest aspirations.”

“We all paved the way for this historic date of our Homeland - because during the resistance movement and in the barracks in exile we believed in Freedom, because at the desks of Lithuanian schools abroad and when representing Lithuania in exile we believed in Freedom, because on the Baltic Way and in the night of the 13th of January we believed in Freedom,” the Minister writes in his congratulations letter to Lithuanian communities abroad.

Minister A.Ažubalis urged his fellow compatriots to fill their lives with responsibility and civic spirit, and to join efforts for creating “our Lithuania that begins in the heart of everyone.”

“On the occasion of this beautiful anniversary, I wish all Lithuanians around the world to once again experience the feeling of Lithuania inside, because Lithuania is us, and because we are Lithuania! We believe in Freedom!” the Minister writes in the congratulations letter.
