Published: 18 January 2011 y., Tuesday

President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė had a traditional annual meeting with foreign ambassadors accredited to and resident in Lithuania, to discuss the domestic political situation and foreign policy of Lithuania.

The President underlined in the meeting that deeper European integration, efficient cooperation within the European Union and NATO and good and constructive relations with neighboring countries were the key directions of Lithuania's foreign policy.

"This year, Lithuania's foreign policy agenda will be topped by the chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe. In this role we will be guided by the principles of continuity, openness and transparency towards progress on such issues as resolution of frozen conflicts, arms control, response to newly emerging threats, enforcement of human rights, free media and democratic elections," the President said.
