Foreign states and international organizations extend condolences to Lithuania on the passing of President Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas

As Lithuania bids its final farewell to President Algirdas Mykolas Brazauskas, the family of the deceased and the people of Lithuania have received messages of condolences from the President of Finland Tarja Halonen and former President of Finland Martti Ahtisaari, U.S. President Barack Obama and the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Queen Elisabeth II of England, President of the European Commission José Manuel Barroso, UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, President of the Bundesrat of the Federal Republic of Germany and acting Federal President Jens Böhrnsen, former Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yevgeny Primakov, former President of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych, Kazakhstani President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Prime Minister of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker, Hungarian President László Sólyom, Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov, Latvian President Valdis Zatlers, former President of Latvia Guntis Ulmanis and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Latvian Parliament (Saeima) Andris Bērziņš, Italian Embassy, Government of the Kaliningrad Region, U. S. Embassy, Indian Embassy, Austrian Embassy, President of the Baltic Assembly Erika Zommere.
