According to the “Vremia novostej”newspaper, Belarusian secrect services investigate the operative case on plotting the anti constitutional coup. Besides the well-known opposition figures some high officials reportedly are involved – the head of Presidential Administration Mikhail Myasnikovich and Prime Minister Vladimir Ermoshin. A.Lukashenko grounded his speech on the materials of this very investigation, when in his speech accused Myasnikovich and Ermoshin of scheming against him.
The head of the state revealed the facts that the nomination of Mikhail Marinich, former Minister of economical contacts and later an ambassador to Latvia, was inspired by the head of Administration. Moreover, at the confidential part of the sitting Lukashenko said that according to the initial plan Myasnikovich was to become the candidate himself. However, Lukashenko said that he does not believe these documents. But he referred to the record of confidential talks of Myasnikovich it certain Embassy. The surveillance after Marinich was carried out in the framework of this case.
According to some sources, at least a month ago the security service of the president instituted proceedings on this case. As a potential conspirator besides Marinich, Ermoshin and Myasnikovich the leader of movement “For New Belarus” former minister of agriculture Vasily Leonov.
KGB did not confirm the fact of investigation, as information on operative work is a “Secret” or “Top Secret”. If the suspicions will be verified, a criminal action will be brought against them.
“Conspirators” deny everything of course. Opposition accuses Lukashenko in preparing overthrow himself.
The latest events in Moscow disquiet Lukashenko a lot. While unpopular “professional protesters” from the Belarusian Popular Front or a small number of former Lukashenko followers dissented with him, Lukashenko could sleep well, while state machine blocked any disagreement. And not among the high officials, presidential foundation, intellectual ferment started. It is not by chance that his main opponent is not from liberals, but a trade union leader and a descendant of the old Soviet “nomenclatura” Vladimir Goncharik. And other members of opposition are ex-minister, ex-governor, Communist leader – they are not dissidents. Officials are not only fed up with unpredictability of the leader, but are afraid of him. Lukashenko is supposedly involved in the disappearing of persons among which were former government leaders. Charges were brought about not by human rights defenders, but by fled law enforcers and former head of presidential administration, who was once very close to the president.
