Trade turnover between two countries amounted to USD 97,2 mln. in 2004

In his work visit to Hundary during February 13-15 Daniyal Akhmetov was accompanied with Minister of Labour and Social protection Gulazhana Karagusova, Vice-Minister of Industry and Trade Asat Isekeshyev and other officials. February 14 Daniyal Akhmetov had a meeting with business circles of the Central and East Europe and met the President of Hungary Mr. Ferenc Madl. On Tuesday February 15 PM participated in the 7th regional conference of IOL (International Organization of Labor). Relationships of Kazakhstan and Hungary have deep historical roots: in 13c. some part of kipchaks settled down in this European country and made a big contribution into its development. This very fact is still unchangeable basis for strengthening friendly relationships and cooperation between our countries. Hungary admitted sovereignty of Kazakhstan December 26, 1991. Diplomatic relations started March 23, 1992. That very month the Embassy of Hungary was opened in Almaty. September 1993 the Embassy of Kazakhstan was opened in Budapest which became our first diplomatic representative in Central and East Europe. Treaty on friendly relations and cooperation was signed between Kazakhstan and Hungary December 1994 during the official visit of President N. Nazarbayev to Hungary. In whole relations of two countries are developing successfully but there is still potential to be used. Trade turnover between two countries amounted to USD 97,2 mln. in 2004.
