On 23 October, Moldovan officials responsible for the issues of European integration are visiting Vilnius at the initiative of Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. They are taking part in the seminar, the purpose of which is to present Lithuanian’s experience in European integration and to promote further close cooperation among the Lithuanian and Moldovan institutions.

Representatives from the office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, the office of the President, the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Finance, Justice and the Office of Law harmonisation are taking part in the event.

‘While the relations between the European Union and Moldova are intensifying, Moldova should dedicate more attention to the reforms in the country,’ indicated Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Žygimantas Pavilionis during the opening of the event.

According to the Undersecretary, Moldova has already started successful implementation of reforms, necessary on its European integration path. Moldova has to continue making these efforts, in order to guarantee the transparency of decision-making and strengthening of its administrational capacities.

The event is organised by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs together with the European Commission Representation to Lithuania, public organization ‘Liberalios reformos’ (“Liberal Reforms”), the  British Embassy in Lithuania and the Embassy of Lithuania to the Republic of Moldova.
