On 2 September, Lithuanian Special Representative in Georgia, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Laimonas Talat-Kelpša travels to Eastern Georgia to look at the ways how issues of ethnic cohabitation are solved in Georgia. L.Talat-Kelpša will visit Pona and Areshperani villages on the Georgian-Azerbaijan border. The majority of the population in these villages are Ossetians.

“In some foreign countries information has been actively spread that the Ossetian and Georgian nations cannot and would not be able to live in concord. It will be interesting and useful to see, how issues of this ethnic cohabitation are really solved at the municipal level. This experience will be also be useful in searching for long term solutions to manage  the conflict in South Ossetia,“ said Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs L.Talat-Kelpša.
