On 5 October, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas presented a note in reply to Ambassador of Denmark Laurids Mikaelsen.
According to this agreement, Lithuania’s Consulate General in Kaliningrad will issue Schengen visas to Russian citizens travelling to Denmark.
“I would like to thank Lithuania in the name of Denmark for stretching a helping hand to Denmark and contributing to the development of relations between Denmark and the Kaliningrad Region,” Ambassador L.Mikaelsen said at the ceremony of exchange of notes at Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He also announced that Denmark considered a possibility to represent consular interests of Lithuania in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam.
The agreement on representation of Denmark in Kaliningrad entered into force on 5 October this year. Lithuania also represents Estonia when issuing visas to the residents of the Kaliningrad Region.
