On 20 October in Tbilisi, Lithuanian Ambassador Mečys Laurinkus presented credentials to President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili.
During the meeting, the President and the Ambassador briefly discussed relations between Lithuania and Georgia, possible bilateral visits of the heads of the two states.
President of Georgia M.Saakashvili expressed his gratification over Lithuania’s support to Georgia. Ambassador M.Laurinkus assured the President that Lithuania would also support Georgia in the future.
Ambassador M.Laurinkus is the second Lithuanian Ambassador to Georgia, residing in Tbilisi.
Lithuania and Georgia established diplomatic relations on 6 August 1994.
